Getting started
What is Amboras?
Amboras is the first AI-native shop platform. It hosts your storefront, runs your products and orders, processes payments, sends transactional and marketing emails — and an AI Business Assistant lives inside every page of the admin to help you actually sell.
How do I create a store on Amboras?
Type one sentence describing what you sell. Amboras names the brand, generates three products with photo-real images and copy, applies branding, sets up promotions, and gives you a live storefront URL — usually inside two minutes.
Do I need any technical skills to use Amboras?
No. There is no theme editor, no DNS to configure, no app store to assemble. Anything you would normally hire a developer or designer for, you can do by chatting with the AI assistant. If you want to write code, you still can.
How long does it take to launch a store?
A starter store is live in under two minutes. A polished, ready-to-sell store with your own domain, products, and brand is usually live the same day.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes. You can build a complete store on the free tier — no credit card. Pay only when you decide to publish on a custom domain or unlock paid features.
Can I see a demo before I sign up?
You can. Browse the “Examples” gallery on the marketing site to see real Amboras stores, or book a 20-minute walkthrough with one of the founders.
What does Amboras include out of the box?
Storefront, backend, hosting, custom domain, SSL, transactional and marketing emails, payments (125+ methods), promotions, reviews, returns, analytics, customer support tools — and the AI Business Assistant on every page.
Do I need to install any apps?
No. Features that other platforms sell as third-party apps — reviews, popups, page builders, email marketing, loyalty — are part of Amboras itself.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Connect any domain you already own from inside the admin — DNS, SSL, and CDN are configured automatically.
What if I get stuck during setup?
A founder responds in chat during business hours, usually within an hour. The AI assistant can also walk you through any step end-to-end.

Building your store
How do I customize the design?
Tell the AI what you want — “make the hero feel more like Aesop”, “use a warmer cream”, “add a press logo bar”. The change ships live in seconds. Direct edits in the admin are also available for every section.
Can the AI redesign my homepage?
Yes. Ask for a full homepage redesign tuned for your audience. The AI proposes a layout, applies it to a draft, and lets you preview before publishing.
What is the AI Business Assistant?
A chat that sits on every admin page and is already expert in that page. On Orders it can refund and re-fulfill. On Products it can write copy and generate images. On Analytics it can explain a drop in conversion. It acts — it does not just answer.
Can I edit any page on the site?
Yes. Home, product, collection, cart, checkout, blog posts, custom landing pages — all editable through chat or direct controls.
Do you support custom code?
Custom CSS and HTML blocks are supported on every page. For deeper changes, the storefront is exportable as a Next.js project.
Can I add my own logo and brand colors?
Of course. Upload your logo or have the AI generate one for you. Set primary and secondary colors, or describe the brand mood and let the AI propose a palette.
Are stores mobile-optimized?
Every Amboras storefront is built mobile-first. Lighthouse scores routinely come in above 95 on mobile.
Can I create custom landing pages?
Yes — for product launches, paid campaigns, press features, or holiday sales. Ask the AI to spin one up; it will.
Does Amboras work for B2B?
Yes. Customer-specific pricing, net-terms invoicing, gated catalogs, and bulk-order forms are first-class features.
Can I show stores in multiple languages?
Yes. Translations are AI-generated by default and editable per-string. Currency switching is automatic by buyer location.

Products & inventory
How do I add a product?
Type the product name and let AI generate a 150–200 word description, hero image, variants, and SEO tags. Or upload your own photos and copy — both flows take under a minute.
Can the AI generate product images?
Yes. Upload reference photos and the AI produces studio-quality lifestyle and packshot images that match your brand.
Does Amboras support variants and options?
Up to three options per product (size, color, material, etc.) and unlimited variants — each with its own SKU, price, inventory, and image.
How does inventory tracking work?
Real-time tracking by location and variant. Low-stock alerts, oversell protection, and AI-suggested re-order points are built in.
Can I sell digital products?
Yes. Files are delivered automatically after payment, with tokenized download links and re-issue support.
Can I sell subscriptions?
Native subscriptions ship with flexible billing intervals, dunning, and customer self-service portals — no third-party app required.
Are there limits on number of SKUs?
No SKU caps on any plan. Stores with 100,000+ variants run on the same infrastructure.
Can I import products from a CSV?
Yes — Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Magento, and standard CSV formats are all supported. The AI also tidies up titles, descriptions, and image alt text during import.
Does Amboras handle bundles?
Yes. Fixed bundles, mix-and-match bundles, and BOGO promotions are configured through the promotions UI or by chat.
Can I sell wholesale?
Yes — separate price lists, gated catalogs, bulk-order minimums, and net-terms invoicing are all supported.

Payments & checkout
What payment methods are supported?
Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, JCB), Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna, Affirm, AfterPay, SEPA, iDEAL, Bancontact, Sofort, Giropay, Multibanco, BLIK, Twint, Alipay, WeChat Pay — over 125 methods globally.
Are payments built in or do I need Stripe?
Payments are native to Amboras and powered by our own integration with Stripe Connect under the hood. You never set up Stripe yourself — but your money lands in your own bank account.
Where does the money go?
Directly into your bank account, on a daily payout schedule by default. Amboras never holds your funds.
Can I accept Apple Pay and Google Pay?
Both are enabled automatically on every storefront — no extra setup.
What about local payment methods like SEPA or iDEAL?
Yes. Buyers see locally relevant methods based on their region and currency.
Is the checkout customizable?
Yes — colors, logo, fields, language, and the order-summary layout. You can also embed upsells and review widgets directly into checkout.
Can customers checkout as a guest?
Guest checkout is on by default. Account creation is optional and never required.
Do you support multi-currency?
Yes. Buyers see prices in their local currency, and you settle in the currencies you choose.
What payment fees do you charge?
Processing fees are pass-through — typically 2.9% + 30¢ for cards in the US, lower in the EU. Amboras does not add a separate transaction fee on top.
Is the checkout PCI compliant?
Yes — Amboras is PCI DSS Level 1. Card data never touches your storefront server.

Shipping & fulfillment
Can I ship internationally?
Yes. Set rates by zone, weight, or value. Duties and taxes can be calculated and pre-collected at checkout (DDP) or left to the carrier (DAP).
Do you integrate with carriers?
UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL, Royal Mail, DPD, Hermes, GLS, Bring, PostNord, Australia Post, Canada Post, and many more.
Can I print shipping labels?
Yes — discounted rates from the integrated carriers, label printing in one click, and bulk label printing for fulfillment days.
How do I set shipping rates?
Flat rate, free above a threshold, weight-based, price-based, or rate-shopped live from the carrier. Rules can be combined per zone.
Can I offer free shipping above a threshold?
Yes — and you can ask the AI to A/B test thresholds against your AOV target.
Does Amboras handle returns?
Branded self-service returns portal, refund and exchange flows, automated label generation, and returns analytics — all built in.
Can I use a 3PL?
Yes. Native integrations with ShipBob, ShipMonk, ShipHero, Easyship, and most major 3PLs. Custom 3PLs can be wired in via webhook.
Do you support local delivery?
Yes — radius-based local delivery zones with delivery slots, route optimization, and SMS notifications.
Can I offer in-store pickup?
Yes. Multi-location pickup with per-location hours, per-location inventory, and pickup-ready notifications.
How do customer notifications work?
Order, fulfillment, shipping, delivery, and exception notifications are sent by email and SMS from your domain. Templates are fully editable.

Migrating from another platform
Do you migrate from Shopify?
Yes. Products, customers, orders, redirects, gift cards, and apps that have an Amboras-native equivalent are all moved over.
What about WooCommerce or BigCommerce?
Both supported with the same scope as Shopify migrations. Magento and Squarespace are also supported.
Will my SEO survive the move?
Yes. URL handles, 301 redirects, sitemaps, and structured data are mapped one-to-one. Most stores see flat or improved organic traffic post-migration.
How long does a migration take?
Most stores finish inside 48 hours. Large catalogs (10k+ SKUs) or complex bundling logic may take a few extra days.
Will my customers need to reset passwords?
Yes — customer accounts move over, but for security, customers receive a one-time reset email when they first log in.
Are my orders preserved?
Yes. All historical orders, fulfillments, and refunds are imported so reporting picks up exactly where you left off.
Can I keep my domain?
Yes. Point DNS to Amboras when you are ready to flip the switch — no downtime.
What about my email templates?
We migrate the visual look and the trigger logic. The AI also offers an updated version that performs better on modern email clients.
Will discount codes carry over?
Yes — codes, automatic discounts, gift cards, and store credits all transfer.
Is migration really free?
Yes — we handle the migration free for every paid plan. No setup fee, no per-product pricing, no “migration agency” bills.

AI & automation
What can the AI assistant do?
Anything you can do in the admin — and many things you cannot. Generate copy and images, redesign pages, build promotions, analyze customers, draft email campaigns, summarize support tickets, refund and re-fulfill orders.
Does AI cost extra?
Each plan includes a generous monthly credit pool. Most stores never run out. If you do, top-ups are pay-as-you-go.
Can the AI act on my store on its own?
You stay in control. By default the AI proposes changes for your approval. You can grant scoped autonomy — e.g. “refund any order under $30 with a complaint about damage” — when you trust it.
What models power the AI?
A mix of frontier models including Anthropic Claude and OpenAI GPT, routed automatically per task to balance speed, quality, and cost.
Will my data be used to train AI?
No. Amboras does not use customer data to train models. Provider integrations are configured with zero-data-retention.
Can I disable the AI?
You can hide the assistant from your team or scope its permissions per role. The platform still works without it.
Can AI write marketing copy?
Yes — emails, push notifications, ads, blog posts, product descriptions. It learns your brand voice from your existing content.
Can AI handle customer support?
Yes. The AI can read order history and store policies and draft replies for your approval, or auto-reply on simple tickets you delegate to it.
Does AI work in languages other than English?
Yes — German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, Danish, Japanese, and more.
What about hallucinations?
Every AI action that touches the store is grounded in the actual database, not free-form text. The assistant cites the records it used and links to them in the admin.

Domains, emails & SEO
How do I connect a domain?
Open Settings → Domains, paste the domain you own, and Amboras handles DNS verification, SSL provisioning, and CDN configuration in the background.
Do you provide SSL?
Yes — automatic, free, and renewed forever on every store and every custom domain.
Can I send emails from my domain?
Yes. Verify your sending domain once and all transactional and marketing emails go out from you@yourbrand.com.
Are transactional emails included?
Order confirmations, shipping updates, refunds, password resets, abandoned cart, post-purchase, review requests — all included, all editable.
What about marketing emails?
Native marketing campaigns and automations (welcome series, win-back, browse abandonment, post-purchase upsells). Lists are managed inside Amboras.
How does SEO work on Amboras?
Server-rendered pages, automatic structured data for products and articles, image alt text generation, sitemap and robots.txt out of the box, and editable meta titles and descriptions everywhere.
Are sitemaps generated automatically?
Yes — and they update in real time as your catalog and content change.
Do you support 301 redirects?
Bulk redirect import is supported, and Amboras automatically creates a redirect when you change a product handle or page slug.
Can I edit meta titles and descriptions?
Yes — per page, per product, per collection, per blog post. AI suggests them by default; you can override anywhere.
Is there a built-in blog?
Yes — a full blog engine with categories, authors, scheduled publishing, and AI-assisted writing. RSS and Atom feeds are generated automatically.

Billing & plans
What plans do you offer?
A free Starter plan for building, a Studio plan for active stores, a Team plan for teams, and a Plus plan for high-volume merchants. See the pricing page for details.
Are there any transaction fees?
No. Amboras never charges a transaction fee on top of payment processing.
Can I change plans later?
Yes — up or down, any time, prorated to the day.
Do you charge per staff seat?
Studio and Team include a generous number of staff. Plus is unlimited. Extra seats on Studio are inexpensive add-ons.
What happens if I cancel?
Your storefront is paused. Data is retained for 90 days for re-activation, then deleted. You can export everything before canceling.
Do you offer annual discounts?
Yes — annual billing saves about two months versus monthly.
Is there a refund policy?
Cancel any time. Unused days on annual plans are refunded prorated. We do not refund processing fees collected by payment providers.
Are there setup fees?
None. Migrations are also included free for every paid plan.
Do you have a Plus / Enterprise plan?
Yes — for stores doing $5M+ GMV. Custom SLAs, dedicated success engineering, and discounted processing.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Products, customers, orders, content, and assets all exportable as CSV, JSON, or as a complete archive.

Security & compliance
Is Amboras GDPR compliant?
Yes. EU data residency available, DPA on request, full data subject access tooling in the admin, and configurable cookie consent.
Where is my data stored?
EU (Frankfurt) by default for European merchants, US (Virginia) for North American merchants. Data residency is contractually guaranteed on Plus.
Do you support PCI DSS?
Yes — Amboras is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Card data is tokenized at the network edge and never touches store-side code.
Who owns the data?
You do — full stop. Data is exportable at any time and is never sold or used to train models.
Do you offer two-factor authentication?
Yes — TOTP authenticator apps and hardware security keys (WebAuthn). 2FA can be enforced for all staff on Team and Plus.
Are backups included?
Continuous point-in-time backups with 30-day retention on every plan. Plus extends retention to 1 year.
Can multiple staff have different permissions?
Yes — granular role-based access control. Roles can be customized per team.
Is there an audit log?
Yes — every staff and AI action is logged with actor, timestamp, and diff. Audit logs are exportable to your SIEM on Plus.
What happens if Amboras goes down?
Storefront infrastructure is multi-region with automatic failover. Status, RPO, and RTO are published on status.amboras.com.
Are you SOC 2 compliant?
Yes — SOC 2 Type II audited annually. Reports are available under NDA.
